Here's how it works:

  • Purchase a minimum of $200 in Sunbacks (our farm currency). You may buy more if you like, no limit.
  • We'll give you a 10% bonus in Sunbacks for subscribing! 
  • Your subscription status is good only for the current calendar year but your Sunbacks never expire
  • You'll get access to reduced price wholesale and regularly priced specialty items (asparagus anyone?) 
  • Canners and Planners get first "dibs" on select products before they become available to the larger list

use your SNAP benefits to join

  • Sign up for Canners and Planners and use your SNAP benefits to break the cost down into monthly payments
  • SNAP accounts will be charged $50 in April and then monthly starting in May until your full C&P subscription has been paid in full.
  • You can also opt to have the full C&P amount paid up front all at once.
  • All qualified SNAP payment agreements will recieve a DUFB match. If you opt for a $400 C&P subscription, $200 will come out of your SNAP funds and $200 will be matched by DUFB funds.
  • The required Disclaimer: “We can process payments if you have SNAP food benefits. If you only receive cash benefits (allowing you to buy non-food items), then we cannot process your payment.”

Farming is not only physically taxing, it also requires a ton of mental stamina. Your subscription fees help keep your farmers in good physical and mental health by:

  • Allowing our bodies to rest during the winter
  • Reducing our financial stress load after not having any sales during our rest period.

  • Hiring crew
  • Pest controls (netting, t-posts, hoops, agricultural cloth, etc)
  • Feeding the soil with cover crops and organic amendments

When you register, you'll be asked to let us know what you are looking forward to eating. We use this information to plan our crops!

We want to grow what you want and need. If you like to plan ahead for future canning or preserving, this is the best way to make sure we'll those items.

  • Canners and Planners special offers usually start in May or June and end in December.
  • C&P items will be marked as X-C&P on the online store. We'll put a link to the "collection" at the top of this page or you can use the search function to find them.
  • You can use your Sunbacks any time of year for any veggie/fruit purchase from our list, our online store or at our farmstand, not just on items marked X-C&P
  • If you run out of Sunbacks, you'll still be on the C&P list so no need to buy more but you certainly can if you want to.
  • You can opt to receive your C&P funds as an electronic gift card code that can be used on our online store, Philomath Farmers Market and Farm Stand. We prefer this option because it's much easier for the admin side of things.
  • Or you can opt for Paper Sunbacks that come in $5 increments. Since they are not redeemable for cash, we cannot give you change. We encourage you to ask us to round up one of your order items so that you get your money's worth or you can simply add cash to your payment. For example, if you order peas $4, carrots $3 and onions $2; your order total would be $9 and if you're paying in Sunbacks you'd ask us to round up with extra peas (or carrots or onions) to make it $10. OR you could pay with $5 in Sunbacks and $4 in cash for a total of $9. It's completely up to you!
  • Paper Sunbacks can be used to pay for our produce online by selecting the payment method that says "Pay at pick-up or Delivery" as pictured here.
